Edward O'Dwyer, 27, did a B.A. at Mary Immaculate College, followed by a Postgraguate Diploma in Education at UCC, and is currently back at Mary Immaculate doing a Research M.A. in Media & Communications, studying 'Apocalyptic Film' specifically. His poems have been published throughout Ireland, the UK, the USA and Australia, in such periodicals as Poetry Ireland Review, THE SHOp, Southword, The Sunday Tribune, Agenda, Scottish Poetry Review, Weyfarers, A Hudson View Poetry Digest, Houston Literary Review and Danse Macabre, to name just a few.

A sequence of twelve poems, Oboe, was published in chapbook format by Revival Press in 2007, for which he edited the Sextet anthology in 2010. Also in 2010, he was selected by Poetry Ireland for their annual Introductions Series. In his short career as a poet, reading his work has taken him to such exotic cultural hotbeds as Madrid, Ljubljana and Waterford.

Live music was provided by Cathy Desmond.

As is the custom the open-mic reading took place afterwards.
