April 2009 Poetry Readings

Glór - April 25th

The monthly Clare Three-Legged Stoot Poets reading takes place on Saturday 25th in Glór at 2.30pm and will run until 4.30pm.

In addition to the usual mix of live music from a locally-based musician and 'open mic' poetry, this month sees the launch of his 15th collection of poetry by Brendan O'Beirne who is a member of the Clare Three-Legged Stool Poets group.

Brendan O'Beirne

A native of Scariff, Brendan O'Beirne decided to become a writer at the age of 11, typing his first poems on his father's typewriter. His first poem was published in 1967 in the Patrick Kavanagh Commemorative Broadsheet. Brendan has travelled widely and worked as a furniture mover, fisherman, barman, gardener, and teacher. He moved to Dublin in 1984 and his first collection was published by Michael Connaughton of Voicefree fame soon after. He has since published 13 other collections and one novel. Now living in Ennis, Brendan will launch his 15th collection, Lost in November Rains, on Saturday 25th of April in Glór.
